How can modern science account for the complexity and organized activity we find in the universe? Additionally, how did universe itself begin? Perhaps the universe came into existence spontaneously from nothing as a result of a quantum process. And the complexity we find is the result of some natural process of self-organization.

The reductionist mechanical approach of science has led to many important discoveries but it fails to adequately describe the organized functioning of biological systems.
